The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) have confirmed that track linking, station work, and overhead electrification on the 6.6 km Priority Corridor from Malahi Pakri to New ISBT are wrapping up, paving the way for high-speed trial runs.

The 5 Priority Corridor Stations

  • Signaling (CBTC): Calibrating the modern Communication-Based Train Control systems for safe headway.
  • Track and Viaduct Integrity: Inspecting vibration levels at speeds of up to 80 km/h.
  • Braking and Door Synchronization: Ensuring alignment of train doors with the platform screen gates.

Commuter Benefits and Traffic Relief

The bypass road and Kankarbagh main road are notorious for traffic congestion. The operation of this priority corridor will reduce travel times between Malahi Pakri and New ISBT to just 10-12 minutes, offering a clean, air-conditioned, and eco-friendly alternative to road transit.
